Thanks to economic development, the land along the railway has been rapidly developed, and the resident population has grown in large numbers. After the Taiwan Railway Linkou(林口) Line was stopped, a rare opportunity arose to connect the urban corridor space with the city. Therefore, it is hoped to use the railway corridor space to provide bicycle paths and leisure green belts and combine them with the surrounding resources, including the environmental improvement of hill foot pathsin Hutoushan(虎頭山) Scenic Area and the open campus of the Affiliated Taoyuan(桃園) Agricultural & Industrial Senior High School of National Taipei University of Technology near the railway corridor, thus improving the quality of life of urban residents and achieving urban activation and regeneration.
The project promotes the trail system for residents surrounding Taoyuan(桃園)-Linkou(林口) Railway near the mountains, and through Taoyuan(桃園) Line 11 landscape corridor, the trail system of Hutoushan(虎頭山) Park, and ecological park sightseeing and leisure spots, it also connects the northwest edge "Forest Greenery Garden Education Zone," cooperates with the unique resources of environmental conditions to rearrange the existing plant groups and the surrounding forest, and provides visitors with recreational activities, an environmental and ecological education field, and a variety of edutainment experiences for both tourists and citizens.
To improve the quality of urban space, promote people-oriented green transportation, integrate the surrounding road traffic, construct an ecological landscape corridor, and preserve local history and culture, a5.3-km green corridor was created with zero waste transportation (750m3 of concrete knocked out to be the subgrade backfill), about 5,618 tons of carbon sequestration after the forest grows up, and a characteristic corridor ultimately formed.
