The project is located in Minxiong Township(民雄鄉), Chiayi County(嘉義縣). The project hopes to promote the landscape transformation of the whole Minxiong area(民雄區), construct a linear urban space system with ecological, cultural, leisure, and landscape functions, implement such concepts of sustainable development as "green road" and "green corridor," and plan a suitable and feasible conservation management plan. Through overall planning and design, the bad landscape space in Minxiong Township(民雄鄉) is improved, and the regional landscape consistency is combined with the landscape characteristics of each district. Meanwhile, the local residents, tourists, and students are provided with a place to pass leisure time in order to improve the quality of ecology and leisure in Minxiong Township(民雄鄉). The key space is "Sports Park + Zaoan(早安) Park" in the north core area, "Minxiong(民雄) Forest Park" (not within the scope of the project) in the middle area, and "Beishizi(北勢子) BarracksArea" in the south core area. The reconstruction result of its sufficient area can bring effective influence to the settlement.

The project includes the "sports park" and "Zaoan(早安) Park" in the north core area of Minxiong(民雄)and the " Beishizi(北勢子) Barracks Area" in the south core area.

• Sports Park: The sports park is the largest park in Minxiong Township(民雄鄉) and a place where many sporting events take place. In order to benefit the local people, the overall planning principles of the sports park are integrate facilities and resources of two pieces of land and create an all-age sports leisure park. In the future, the evergreen fitness sports center and social welfare center are planned to enter here, thus integrating this base and the court of Minxiong(民雄) Junior High School across the street into a resource-sharing sports park, with facilities and functions that satisfy all ages. Therefore, the base should be constructed as an all-age sports leisure park that create support unities for people to interact with each other; the two bases on both sides of the road are connected by the central axis square and introduce the garden/vegetable garden of the community, so that the community can adopt and plant on the square and make it a high-quality place for residents of the surrounding community to meet and interact with students, people who come to the park for sports, the elderly, children, and various other groups. It will also increase the shade way and create a green environment and opportunities to experience the surrounding rural area and nature. It shall increase the shade way in the eastern area of the sports facilities and axial square without influencing the activity and sunlight demand and shall plant trees around the base to set the fitness equipment space and playground in the woods, create opportunities for walking and recreating under the forests, and build a green environment for the sports park.


• Zaoan(早安) Park: Zaoan(早安) Park is the center of neighborhood life and communication. The overall planning principles of Zaoan(早安) Park are as follows: a. To create a playground under the forest using the existing shady area: with more trees on the north and west side of the park currently, it is suggested to preserve or adjust the existing trees on the site and use the open space under the forest to create a harmonious playground and leisure sports field rich in shade. b. To create opportunities for human interaction through central axis square: the park has a T-shaped central axis square, which connects various activity areas, including a roofed corridor, to provide a better connection and usage environment. The central axis square integrate the community garden design, making it a high-quality place for interaction between the residents of the surrounding community and the students, people who come to the park to play sports, the elderly, children, and various other groups. c. To create a ring trail to strengthen the recreational sports function of a small park: to set up a safe ring trail in the park and strengthen the diversity of plants on both sides of the trail, so that people can also experience the changes of birds singing and fragrance and seasonal planting when walking, which also creates a green environment for the sports park.


• Beishizi(北勢子) Barracks Area: Beishizi(北勢子) Barracks Areais transformed from a closed space into an open space of the city. This plan, combined with the reinterpretation and reuse of the barracks, will make it the center of leisure life of the community. The principles of the overall planning concept of Beishizi(北勢子) Barracks Park are as follows: a. The park green space shall be the entrance of a future development zone: the introduction of the entrance park will set the open green space among urban life, with the chance for people to imagine the space character inside of a high-quality ecological and humanistic environment from the entrance and experience the new open green space in the public view. b. To retain part of the land texture of the military barracks and extend it to the memory of the future development zone; to set the ecological activity experience of the park in the area with more trees currently (west side), reduce the development scope, and leave opportunities and flexibility for park expansion and development in the future.
